Justin Smith, PhD, was born and raised in Los Angeles. His educational journey includes Occidental College, Fuller Theological Seminary, The Graduate Theological Union, and University of St. Andrews, Scotland. He has taught at APU since 2011, first as an adjunct and then as a full-time professor. Smith has published in the area of the Gospels and Gospel genre as well as biblical interpretation. He has served the university in a wide variety of capacities, including Faculty Senate, Senate Steering Committee, and currently as chair of the Department of Biblical and Religious Studies.
